Manual for the Climate Credit System of Catalonia

The Forest Climate Credit System of Catalonia (SCCFC), developed as part of the LIFE CLIMARK project, aims to address climate change through sustainable forest management. It operates using Forest Mitigation and Adaptation Projects (PROMACC), which generate climate credits based on their impact on carbon regulation, water provision, and biodiversity enhancement. Public or private entities can purchase these credits.

This system showcases an integrated model for mitigating climate change while supporting biodiversity and water resources. It is a replicable blueprint for other regions aiming to align sustainable forest management with ecosystem restoration and climate policies.
