This line of action, Innovation and Investment, catalyses forest bioeconomy innovation to accelerate the uptake of new knowledge, technologies and business models in member regions. Through open innovation challenges, matchmaking events, investment forums and strategic partnerships, it connects forest-based innovators with the networks, expertise and resources they need to develop and scale. Drawing on EFI’s research and innovation networks, Bioregions collectively builds and strengthens the regional ecosystems that support forest-based entrepreneurship — helping promising ideas reach markets and create impact across Europe.

Catalyse bioeconomy innovation and business support to accelerate knowledge and market uptake through open innovation challenges, matchmaking events, high-level discussions and strategic partnerships. Collectively build and strengthen an ecosystem of forest-based innovators and regional innovation support initiatives, also leveraging EFI’s research and innovation networks.
