France: Label Bas Carbone
National certification scheme for emissions reductions and removals. ‘Label Bas Carbone’ has already been running for five years. In forestry, more than 600 projects have been certified following one of the three methodologies:
- (1) afforestation,
- (2) forest restoration after a fire event, a storm or important diebacks and
- (3) conversion from coppice to high-stand management.
Feedback will be given about the use of this certification scheme to incentivise low-carbon practices in forestry.
