Innovative solutions for fire risk management at 8MFW
This “Innovative solutions for fire risk management” event of FIRE-RES is conceptualized as a short, wrap-up networking event that serves as a closing side-event of the second day of the Mediterranean Forest Week. It is purposefully programmed back-to-back to the plenary session dedicated to wildfire prevention and post-fire restoration, thus highlighting the key role of innovation for both these phases of the risk cycle. This side-event will combine a “setting the scene” keynote speech about the role of innovation for building resilience in the face of Extreme Wildfire Events, followed by a series of innovative solution pitches and displays. At the end, a space for networking will be facilitated, enlivened by food and drinks. This structure aims at contributing to the FIRE-RES efforts for scaling-up and scaling-out innovative solutions in the wildfire realm, ultimately contributing to the overriding goal of building resilient landscapes.
