Ask a Scientist – Sustainable Finance and Forest Biodiversity
On 11 September at 11:00 CEST, join the ThinkForest Ask a Scientist webinar. Participants will gain insights from scientists who contributed to the EFI From Science to Policy publication “Sustainable Finance and Forest Biodiversity Criteria“.
Maintaining and enhancing biodiversity in forests is important, as it is threatened both in Europe and globally. Finishing sustainable activities has become a priority, particularly within the European Union.
The EU Taxonomy aims to create a common way to classify sustainable economic activities for investors. To be considered environmentally sustainable, economic activities and investments must meet certain minimum requirements and adhere to screening criteria that are to be defined by delegated acts from the European Commission. However, specific criteria for biodiversity in forest-related activities have not yet been fully defined.
