Ecobase
Ecobase: Increase afforestation activity and development of forestry carbon projects across Europe
Ecobase is a company specialised in developing afforestation and forestry carbon projects in Europe. The initiative is dedicated to assisting European landowners in accessing carbon finance to accelerate afforestation and reforestation activities and enhance carbon sequestration in existing forests. The company’s pan-European afforestation project aims to establish a large carbon sink by planting trees on unused land, removing carbon from the atmosphere. Ecobase aims to advance its platform capabilities and develop new services. The company aims to support landowners in their forest carbon initiatives, from the establishment of new forests to the enhancement of current practices, through its Afforestation, Reforestation, Revegetation (ARR) and Improved Forest Management (IFM) projects. As Ecobase evolves, it aims to establish itself as an adviser and developer of carbon projects for landowners. This approach ensures that they can provide landowners with a range of options for generating income from their carbon projects. The company works with buyers to offer different solutions, including carbon credit offtake and pre-financing. Ecobase also develops and manages a client portal for its landowners, as well as oversees the monitoring, reporting and verification processes required for the certification of carbon credits. The Ecobase ARR project is being registered with Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS).
