Bioregions Facility at LIGNA 2025
On 26 May 2025, the Bioregions Facility and the Wald und Holz North Rhine-Westphalia co-organised the “Towards a European wood start-up ecosystem: lessons learned from across European regions” networking session at the LIGNA Fair in Hanover, Germany.
The session explored how to better support forest and wood-based start-ups by learning from five initiatives across European regions: Woodknowledge Wales, Zentrum Holz, LaWoodTech (Xylofutur), VDMA Startup Machine, and the Bioregions Facility.
The presentations were followed by a roundtable with the presenters to seek opportunities and collaborations, during which participants asked questions and shared their own experiences.
