2BForest: Extreme wildfire prevention using ForestSIM®

2BForest harnesses the expertise of certified forest landowners to refine ForestSIM®, a WebGIS platform for sustainable forest management. Technicians conduct structured interviews and field assessments to capture insights on stand age, species mix, past thinning regimes and local fire behaviour. Through an interactive “what-if” simulation interface, users can test scenarios by altering thinning intensity, prescribed-burn schedules, or access-road layouts, and immediately visualise projected fire behaviour under various climate forecasts. Custom dashboards highlight high-risk stands, recommend targeted mitigation treatments and estimate cost-benefit trade-offs, empowering landowners and agencies to allocate resources for maximum risk reduction.
